Meet Our Team
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas. I am board certified as a Nationally Credentialed Counselor (NCC). My professional values are demonstrated in my precision and deep commitment to my research, evaluation, and clinical work. I exemplify the core value of equity and inclusive practices through my clinical, research, and scholarly activities. Clinically, I work with people from all walks of life. Most recently, I see a lot of healthcare professionals and first responders. More importantly, I am known for working with various peer assistance programs and licensure boards; I help clients navigate these systems and remain on the road to recovery. I am also a TPAPN and TXPHP-approved evaluator, the monitoring programs for health care professionals.
I am also well known for my work with clients with addiction issues. I believe in healing, restoration, and hope. I am humbled by the work I get to do with others. Counseling and clinical consultation is the greatest privilege of my life. As an agent of change, I value the courage of my clients and do not take their willingness to come to counseling lightly. This inspires me to do my best work.

Miguel Navarro
Psychologist Associate
Cognitive Behavioral Therapist
Hello! I am a psychologist-in-training. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trinity University, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Bilingual Certification in Spanish from the University of Texas in San Antonio. I am currently working towards obtaining my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Santa Barbara.
My primary practices include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to effect change in people who seek my help. I believe that people can improve their unhealthy emotional and behavioral patterns by learning to interpret their thoughts and situations in a healthier way. With the right support, people can initiate a cascade of behavioral, emotional, and physiological changes in their life.
Clinically, I provide psychological services in both English and Spanish at outpatient community mental health clinics in California and Texas to people experiencing mood disorders, such as anxiety and depression. I currently conduct psychological assessments for TPAPN and TXPHP under the supervision of Dr. Stacy Speedlin Gonzalez at Salient Counseling Services. My clinical interests include obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, psychological assessments, and research.
I am enthused to be a part of the Salient Counseling Services team, and is looking forward to serving people by joining them on their journey of change, hope, forgiveness, and self-discovery.

I’m a proud first-generation graduate from The University of Texas at San Antonio (Go ‘Runners!). I enjoy spending spare time with my 3 dogs, traveling, and the occasional board game night with family and friends. I have a bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with focus areas in psychology, political science, and communications, and recently graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Leigh Rainwater LPC-S. I primarily work with children, adolescents, and families due to my experience in shelter environments and a children’s outpatient clinic. I believe that this population faces many challenges as they are learning and striving to meet certain expectations every day.
I also have experience working with children and adults who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and many other mental health diagnoses. Growing up, all I knew is that I wanted to help people, but what I get to do today is beyond my wildest imagination. I believe that people (even my littlest clients) are capable, resilient, and strong but sometimes in life, we don’t always feel that way. I help people find peace and power by building their communication and problem-solving skills. My sessions include a strengths-based approach that allows my clients to be the true guide for how we make progress. I strive to bring you my most authentic self. I sometimes use humor or play therapy aspects to help clients feel at ease because I know that being vulnerable can be scary or difficult. It is my hope to be a light in my clients’ unique journeys as they learn to cope with the twists and turns of life and discover confidence within themselves.

Crisis Management
Clinician
Our experiences may drive our expectations, and our expectations sometimes guide our experiences. Hopefully, I can learn from your story so that we can create the life of satisfaction that you deserve. I am a graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Texas in San Antonio. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Dr. Stacy Speedlin Gonzalez.
My family is replete with servant leaders, and I am a fourth-generation military veteran. After completing infantry basic training, I was hand-selected to serve in the United States Army Honor Guard in the Washington D.C. area. Before graduate school, I was an Army officer who deployed to Iraq during Operation New Dawn. My wife Kellie and our three children have continued to lovingly support me throughout these endeavors.
Additionally, I am a kink-friendly provider able to assist BDSM, polyamorous, and other lifestyle relationships. I understand your experiences and love working to improve interpersonal dynamics through effective communication. I have worked with various psychotic disorders and those considered at risk of emotional crisis or suicidality. I have a background in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, problem-solving, and crisis intervention. My gift is that I am always present, vulnerable, and transparent. My counseling style is eclectic and honest. I appreciate you for allowing me to join you on this journey.

Over the course of our lives, through our experiences, interactions, and collisions with the everyday, our inner compass begins to lose polarity and a fog can settle over the seas of our minds. I am dedicated to helping you take back the wheel. To aid in this shared voyage, I will help you hold yourself accountable, identify your signature strengths, and explore opportunities for development to get in tune with your best self. I also include elements of positive psychology and Eastern philosophy throughout my work in counseling to help you cultivate your inner self and be empowered to live more authentically, healthily, and mindfully.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Christopher Leeth, PhD, LPC-S. I am a Corpus Christi transplant and a UTSA alumna with a BA in Psychology with Highest Honors and International Distinction and a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (mind readings available for a small fee of $1 million, listening ear is free). I constantly expand my repertoire of counseling skills and psychological know-how by staying abreast of current literature and techniques in counseling to provide evidence-based care to clients.
As an avid lover of research, language studies/travel, and self-improvement, my passion for diverse human experiences and their cultural intersections directly influences my desire to work with people and help others pursue their true callings. In my spare time, I enjoy riding roller coasters, watching anime, painting, playing Animal Crossing, and staring at photos of my cat, Rosemary.

Nikki Lewis
Counselor Associate
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas by two strong Black women. Being a person of color with same-sex parents came with a few struggles, but it drove my passion to make a change in the lives of those who face inequality. I found courage within myself to actualize my dream and now I can proudly say I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (under the supervision of Dr. Stacy Speedlin Gonzalez).
Not only do I have a passion for working with those who face inequality, I thoroughly enjoy working with children and adolescents. During these stages of development, people can face great hardship. I provide my clients with the space to be open, feel safe, and reach their full potential.
My work as a counselor is more than my professional identity. I strive for personal growth as much as I can to be helpful to others. Empowering others who feel powerless gives me the strength to fight every day. I have gained so much from the diverse populations I have worked with thus far such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, children, adolescents, and LGBTQ+. I feel called to provide a platform for voices who have been silenced by the world.
I was born and raised in San Antonio Texas and attended Holy Cross High School before joining the Marines and deploying to Iraq. Once completing four years within the Marines, and two combat deployments to Iraq, I attended community college at Northwest Vista and obtained my associate degree in psychology. I also completed my bachelor’s at the University of Texas at San Antonio with a major in Psychology and a minor in Wellness. I am currently a master’s student in the Clinical Mental Health program at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
I enjoy traveling to different states and camping in Texas state parks in my free time. I also run marathons and triathlons as an ambassador for a nonprofit called Semper Fi Fund, a nonprofit that uses sports to battle Post Traumatic Stress and other mental health issues. I love taking what I have learned, and my own experiences, to help others overcome their own issues and become the best versions of themselves.
I plan to one day specialize in working with Veterans and Law Enforcement officers. As a Marine, it is my honor to serve my brothers and sisters who served alongside me. Moreover, I value helping first responders and individuals who dedicate their lives to the betterment and protection of our citizens.
